Bakery Four is a naturally leavened bakery located in the heart of Tennyson Street in Northwest Denver. The bakery was started by Shawn Bergin as a cottage food business in October of 2019 before moving to our first brick and mortar on W 32nd Avenue in May of 2020. 14 months later they began the buildout for a 3,000 square foot space at 4150 Tennyson Street, which opened in March of 2022. The team has allowed for the operations to thrive, and include thousands of products handmade every day ranging from elevated versions of your favorite childhood sweets to the most incredible artisan breads and pastries. In February 2024, they expanded bagel operations to a standalone location at 10081 W 26th ave in Wheat Ridge.
We proudly use Cairnspring Mills flour, Grand Moulins flour, french sel gris sea salt, Isigny St Mere butter, and Valrhona Chocolate. Each component of every product is crafted from scratch each morning before the sun comes up.
Bakery Four has been named peoples choice best bakery in Westword and 5280 magazine in 2022, 2023, and 2024, best bagels in 2022, and best baguettes in 2025. Shawn was also named best baker by starchef magazine in 2023, and the bread team was the recipient of the gold medal in sourdough bread and baguettes at the 2025 IBIE world bread awards.
